STUPSAT

The Student PocketQube Satellite of TU Berlin

Information about the „Projektwerkstatt PULSE“ at TU Berlin:

This semester we meet every Tuesday 09:00 – 12:00 in F224
First Meeting is 14.04.2026

OUR MISSION

STUPSAT is set to be the first student PocketQube satellite launched to space by TU Berlin.

Key features of the STUPSAT platform are flexibility and size.
With a form factor of 3P, 15x5x5 cm it can accommodate different smaller payloads and missions,
while maintaining a simple and easy to update design.
It is the perfect place for students to test new tech and new ideas,
making future space missions more sustainable.

We help young engineers to create something meaningful.

First Signs of Life of the On Board Computer

Mar. 2026

The team successfully uploaded and ran a simple blink program, confirming the system’s basic functionality.

The Payload Interface Board PROTOTYPE
Feb. 2026

The Payload Group successfully developed and procured the first Payload-prototype. With this, students can implement two SpacePix3-Daughterboards provided by CUT Prague. A great leap forward!

The Team of the Third Semester
Mar. 2026

The focus of this semester was to make progress with the hardware and science for the SpacePix3 payload and interface board, developed in house. The Team also worked on the foundation of the on board software.

FIRST PROTOTYPES
Oct. 2025

The first prototype PCBs were designed and manufactured by our students, and initial testing successfully validated the design.

START OF SECOND SEMESTER
The Team of the Project Lab
Apr. 2025

During the second semester of the project lab, students achieved major advancements in the satellite’s design — with significant progress made in the OBC, TT&C, and EPS systems.

ESA EDUCATION
Fly your Satellite Design Booster
Dec. 2024

Our team was selected to participate in the ESA Design Workshop, where we deepened our expertise in satellite development and innovation. The event also provided a unique opportunity to showcase our results to a panel of ESA experts and fellow European students, highlighting our progress on an international stage.

START OF FIRST SEMESTER
The first Team of the Project Lab
Oct. 2024

Building on this success, the team chose to take the project even further while preserving its educational spirit. This led to the creation of the “PULSE” project lab at TU Berlin — a student-driven initiative that empowers hands-on learning and innovation.

ESA EDUCATION
Fly Your Satellite Challenge
Dec. 2023

Our team was selected to take part in the ESA Fly Your Satellite Selection Workshop, where we successfully advanced to the final round.
